We are very excited to announce that Allied Pickfords has been awarded Asia-Pacific International Moving Company of the Year, at the 2013 Expatriate Management & Mobility Awards. The results were announced at the EMMAs Awards Gala Dinner in Singapore.
We are very proud to announce this historic milestone, which reflects the fantastic dedication and tireless efforts of our loyal and passionate workforce across Australia, New Zealand and our Asia Pacific Region.
The EMMA award is something we are very proud of and makes the team at Allied Pickfords continue to strive to maintain our number one position as the Worlds largest moving services provider and number one choice with our Corporate, Government and Consumer customers throughout the region.
Christchurch Branch Official Opening
Thursday 23 May – Allied Pickfords Furniture Movers marked the official opening of our brand new Christchurch facility by the Right Honourable John Key, Prime Minister of New Zealand. Allied Pickfords are proud to announce that our new $4.1m state-of-the-art facility (built by Arrow International) has contributed strongly to the Christchurch community by creating at least 28 additional jobs for our much-loved locals.
Over 50 guests joined us at this wonderful event, which included morning tea, guided tours around the facility as well as the official opening by John Key, Prime Minister of New Zealand, and Tony Marriott, General Manager of Allied Pickfords.
As the most recent addition to three other new facilities across our Trans Tasman network of over 50 locations, Allied Pickfords is excited to expand our reach and service capability in servicing our customers’ growing requirements both now and well into the future. Allied Pickfords maintain our continued focus on investing for the long-term future of our employees and customers and our new Christchurch facility further positions Allied Pickfords as the market leader in New Zealand.

New Removalist depot for Christchurch
April 2013 - Allied Pickfords is pleased to announce the building of a new multi-million dollar facility in Wigram is close to completion. Located right next to the new motorway, this heralds an exciting new development for Allied Pickfords in Christchurch.
Allied Pickfords Christchurch will now boast 3000 square metres of high stud roof, as well as the latest technologies in security and environmentally friendly designing.
Our Christcurch moving facility will also be the first removals facility built in New Zealand to meet the new earthquake standards of 2012. Opening is planned for May 2013.
Graham Sutcliffe retires after more than 20 years
January 2013 - Managing Director Graham Sutcliffe retired from Allied Pickfords after leading the company for more than 20 years. He leaves the organisation in a very strong position as New Zealand’s most preferred furniture removal company. He is succeeded by the former South Island Manager, Tony Marriott.
300,000 books on the move!
November 2012 – Allied Pickfords were chosen as the successful company to move over 300,000 books at the University of Canterbury. These books needed to be moved to allow the repairs of the James Height building which currently houses many of the University’s book collections. This is a very large project and featured some specialised IT and moving equipment.
Allied Pickfords – Removalist Training Academy Australia / New Zealand
June 2012 – Allied Pickfords are pleased to announce that our Removalist Training Academy program has commenced for 2012. The Training Academy educates our staff in Health, Safety, and Well Being, as well as providing up-to-date information on our internal employee offering and practical assessing of packing and loading, combined with quality and customer service principles.
Designed to facilitate best practice across our New Zealand locations and maximise consistency in service delivery, whilst promoting safety, this Academy is unique to our industry. It demonstrates our commitment to our people and provides Allied Pickfords with a real competitive advantage.
